Keyword SEO is the research necessary for all search engine optimization (SEO).  Most clients are not aware of the keywords that are actually used by prospects to find information about their goods or services.

Knowing which keywords convert is a leg up on the competition.  It isn't about running all keywords possible in an AdWords campaign and seeing what sticks.  The number of competing pages for that same keyword also plays a part.  A better strategy may be to pick keyword phrases that may not have as much traffic but have fewer competing pages.  Not all of these phrases will convert to sales but one or two them will and they will be worth their weight in gold.
